ENGINE REBUILDS

From mild to wild, we've got you covered when it comes to building a dependable Rotary engine.

ENGINE REBUILD

When the unfortunate circumstance arises that a rebuild is required we only provide the highest level of workmanship using only brand new Mazda rebuild parts. All seals, springs, bearings and gaskets are included as standard, and a few refinements around the block will be made, all in the pursuit of longevity.

Rebuilds start from £3900*

*Excludes any component failure found once stripped. (Rotors, housings, irons, eccentric shaft and stationary gears)

HALF BRIDGE PORTING

A Half-Bridge brings the iconic braps* with slightly less drivability drawbacks over a Full-Bridge. It is the next step up from a street port in terms of port opening area, and introduces extra overlap, helping push that all-important peak power further up the rev range.

Pricing starts from £500

*The Renesis requires a Full-Bridge for 'braps'.

DYNAMIC BALANCING

When it comes to building an engine that can cope with frequent, or sustained high RPM usage (big sends), balancing of the rotating assembly offers one of the biggest benefits in a rotary. It is becoming more apparent that Mazda's balancing tolerances are quite high (especially with the Renesis!) meaning that the faster the engine spins, the more potential wear can be introduced. This can apply unusual stresses to the Eccentric Shaft, which affects bearings, irons, and even housings depending on how far out the balancing is. Dynamic balancing can rectify this, by strategically removing weight from rotors to balance them as individual parts. Then all rotors are weightmatched. Lastly, everything is balanced in rotation with their respective counterweights combined, to ensure smooth operation at high RPM. This is a service we recommend on EVERY engine.

Pricing starts from £450

STREET PORTING

The 'gold standard' of porting in our workshop - the Street Port. This port brings all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks. By increasing the intake port opening duration, we give the engine a longer opportunity to take in more air during high speed operation. Translation: more air, more power! The idle does not change, fuel consumption does not change, and driveability is unaffected. It's a win-win-win all round. It is by far the most cost effective power-adder for a rotary engine.

Pricing starts from £300

FULL BRIDGE PORTING

The port that gets mentioned a lot in the rotary community. Full-Bridge Ports were intended for race use only, sacrificing all drivability on the road for just that little bit of extra power. When it comes to a choppy 2,000 RPM idle*, it doesn't get much better than this... But don't be surprised if you find yourself struggling to cruise slowly around town or in traffic, as this port really does demand that you keep the revs up! For the princely sum of double that of a Street Port, this hellspawn port could be yours.

Pricing starts from £600**

*1,500 RPM idle on a Renesis due to a lack of overlap in comparison to previous rotaries.

**We will only carry this out on a Renesis with rotors machined to accept 2mm REW Apex Seals.

TUNING

There are always improvements to be had from tuning. Especially if you've changed things, like your exhaust, intake, ports, turbo, etc. We can optimise your setup with our bespoke tuning service, whether it's an OEM ECU*, a Haltech, a Link or any other standalone engine management system.

Pricing starts from £400.

*Only the Mazda RX-8 standard ECU can be accessed. RX-7 standard ECUs cannot be altered, and require an aftermarket solution.
